The Kebbi State Project Management Unit (SPMU) of the Agro-Climate Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project has disbursed N364.5 million in loans to nine Community Revolving Fund Management Committees (CRFMCs) under the Community Revolving Fund (CRF) programme. This support initiative aims to foster resilience and sustainable livelihoods by enabling the communities make investments in sustainable agriculture.
At the disbursement ceremony held at the Government House, the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, urged beneficiaries to utilize the funds judiciously and repay them promptly, ensuring that the program’s benefits can extend to more members in need.
ACReSAL’s Task Team Leader, Dr. Joy Iganya Agene, highlighted the importance of this project considering the impact of climate change on Kebbi State’s agricultural outfit. This CRF programme aligns with ACReSAL’s broader mission of enhancing community resilience and improving sustainable productivity within Nigeria’s semi-arid landscapes.
By empowering farmers and encouraging sustainable practices, ACReSAL Kebbi SPMU seeks to mitigate the effects of climate change and support economic growth in vulnerable communities across Kebbi State.
