Kebbi ACReSAL pays stakeholder visit to Emir of Zuru

[ZURU, 9th November, 2023] – The Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) project embarked on a significant sensitization visit to His Royal Highness, Emir of Zuru, Major General (Dr.) Muhammad Sani Sami, CON, mni, LLD, FICEN (Sami Gomo II). Led by the State Project Coordinator, Ahmed Isa-Tela, the ACReSAL team was warmly welcomed at the Emir’s palace to engage in a comprehensive discussion regarding the project’s activities within Zuru.

During the visit, Mr. Ahmed Isa-Tela provided the Emir and his council members with a comprehensive overview of the ACReSAL project, clarifying its various components and emphasizing the tangible benefits it brings to the people of Zuru. Also, the team actively involved key stakeholders in discussions related to peace-building mechanisms essential for the effective implementation of the project.

The State Project Coordinator also sought the Emir’s esteemed support, recognizing the pivotal role the traditional institution plays in the success of such transformative endeavours.

In response, the Emir of Zuru expressed his gratitude to the ACReSAL team for the visit and commended the project for choosing to situate some of its activities within his Emirate. He shared some of the the prevalent environmental challenges faced by the Zuru community and conveyed his appreciation for the project’s commitment to addressing some of them. The Emir conveyed his best wishes for the success of ACReSAL and pledged unwavering support, committing to avail the necessary assistance to ensure the project’s success.

The ACReSAL team, in turn, expressed sincere appreciation for the Emir’s warm reception and affirmed their commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at promoting sustainable development in the Zuru region.
