The Kebbi State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-arid Landscape, held a pivotal meeting on February 14th, 2024, to open financial proposals for conceptual feasibility studies and engineering design projects. The meeting, which took place at the project’s Conference Hall emphasized transparency, diligence, and commitment to quality in project implementation.
Welcoming the firms and attendees, the State Project Coordinator, Ahmad Isa-Tela, along with key officials including the Chair State Steering Committee, represented by the Chair State Technical Committee and the Permanent Secretary of Kebbi State Ministry of Environment, Barr. Kudirat Shuaibu, reiterated the importance of diligence in evaluating firm submissions.
Identifying the intervention areas that include Badariya, Dukku Malala erosion sites in Birnin Kebbi LGA, Rikoto Rafin Mose erosion sites and the Zuru dam project in Zuru LGA, the project nderscored the need for detailed engineering designs and integrated watershed planning. This initiative aims to provide effective solutions to theenvironmental challenges in the identified sites in the two micro watersheds of the project.
Representatives from various ministries and participating firms attended the meeting. Notably, the Procurement Officer outlined the procurement process, emphasizing fairness and adherence to Quality and Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) procedures.The meeting saw the unveiling of financial proposals from qualified firms; Enviplan, Teamwork, and ABISS. Firm representatives confirmed the integrity of their proposals before signing the results.
Representatives from co-ministries and projects praised the transparency of the bidding process, commending the ACReSAL Kebbi SPMU for its innovative and transparent procurement approach and pledging their unwavering support to the project objectives.
The Chair State Steering Committee, represented by Barr. Kudirat Shuaibu, lauded the financial opening process and reaffirmed the commitment of the Kebbi State Ministry of Environment to achieving the project objectives.
The meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on transparency, quality, and effective project delivery as ACReSAL Kebbi continues its efforts to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development.
